It represents Jean-Martin Charcot demonstrating in a clinical lecture to his colleagues at the Salpêtrière that the symptoms of hysteria were as real as those of any organic disease. The patient is the famous hysterical "Blanche" (Marie) Wittman, who is supported by Dr. Joseph Babiński.

First of all, I want to thank you for allowing me to act as your Editor in Chief.

Through the guidance and enthusiasm of our membership and especially our leadership, we are engaging on a monumental change in the Harnett County Medical and Dental Society. The Society has many functions and benefits, one of the most important being the camaraderie and support our members enjoy.

The regulatory changes coming with healthcare reform will change the way we deliver healthcare unlike anything we have ever seen. By working together, we will be able to cope and take advantage of these changes for our patients and practices

With our new web site, I hope that we can disseminate information and educate ourselves as well as our patient community about healthcare from the local physician’s perspective.

We are all very fortunate to practice in our community. Practicing in a small medical community may be challenging, but I think it is very rewarding and in many ways can be advantageous for patient care. In our community, we have more of a tendency to act as a team freely calling each other for advice and support. As a Radiologist, I have been able to closely interact with all of my colleagues and friends to make the most accurate diagnosis for our patients.

I hope that we can carry on the legacy of our local medical community physicians who came before us and make them proud to allow us to carry on their work.
